April 15, 2010 Rethinking Poverty: Bridge Conference
Long-lasting poverty is more than an economic situation. Poverty impacts physical, mental, spiritual, and social conditions, and in some cases serves as a completely separate culture. Unfortunately that culture is often overlooked, and many families in poverty are not being reached by the traditional church. The Bridge Conference is a special seminar about generational poverty, how this social subculture impacts our community, and how Christians can reach out to those who live in its grip by rethinking poverty within their own churches and ministries. For your convenience there are two separate sessions of the Bridge Conference scheduled in April; Monday April 19th at 6:30 PM and Sunday April 25th at 3. (The same information will be presented at both.) Sessions will be held at Kids 4 Christ in LaFayette and last approximately 2-1/2 hours. Guests are asked to RSVP at 706 639 3234 or info@k4c.info to ensure adequate space and materials. Kids 4 Christ is an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving children in the LaFayette area. K4C offers weekly Bible classes, a daily after-school academic program, and mentoring activities to help children open their minds, hearts, and lives to Jesus. For more about K4C call (706) 639 3234 or see the organization's Web site at www.k4c.info. |
