American Legion Riders Host Fundraiser for Kids 4 Christ
Bikers Raise Over $1,400 for LaFayette Children's Charity
The Legion Riders of Legion Post 214 in Rossville recently hosted a fundraiser ride to benefit LaFayette's Kids 4 Christ. Bikers participating in the Ride for Love left Fort Oglethorpe at 8:00 AM on June 28th for Noccalula Falls, Alabama, then headed back to American Legion Post 214. Despite a few minor incidents along the way, every rider got back to Rossville in one piece and ready for lunch at 3 PM.
When they returned to Rossville the ride participants were greeted by a dozen kids from Kids 4 Christ brought in to eat with the riders. The kids enjoyed meeting real bikers and especially loved getting to touch and sit on the participant's motorcycles.
Motorcycle owners from Post 214 joined members of Bikers On A Mission and other local motorcycle groups for a total of 22 registered bikes. Registration fees, meal tickets, and t-shirt sales combined with outside donations raised a combined $1,440 for the Kids 4 Christ building program.
The American Legion Riders is a family-oriented club for members of the American Legion who enjoy motorcycles. Members of the Riders participate in Legion activities and work to support the communities where they live, work, and play.
