Kids 4 Christ Rewards Bible Class Students
Three Youth Given Awards for Perfect Attendance & Hard Work;
Gift Cards & iPods Serve as Incentives for Kids To Attend Bible Class

Perfect attendance for one year is hard enough, but 11-year-old Amber Harry has gone more than five years without missing a single week of Bible class at Kids 4 Christ. Last Wednesday Amber received a $50 Wal-Mart gift card for having perfect attendance to K4C KidsFirst Bi-ble class since February 2003.

LHS Sophomore and ROTC cadet Ricky Skinner was also recognized for having one year of perfect attendance at K4C with a $10 gift card. His attendance and hard work as a K4C Junior Assistant are appreciated by all the staff at Kids 4 Christ and serve as an example for other local teenagers. Ricky, Amber, and 37 other KidsFirst participants earned a field trip for hav-ing good attendance during the first three months of 2008.

Last Wednesday K4C also awarded a new iPod Shuffle to 5th grader X-Zavia Underwood. X-Zavia got the iPod by working hard and saving up "KidsKash" reward dollars earned each week at KidsFirst. Students participating in K4C's KidsFirst and Cool After School programs earn KidsKash through attendance, Bible reading, behavior, and classroom participation.

"We punish bad choices, but we should also reward good choices and good behavior like these kids have displayed" said K4C Administrator Gail Marks. "I believe these three students would have done just as well without incentives, but their hard work should be rewarded so they know we appreciate them and to maybe inspire some of our other kids to be as faithful as X-Zavia, Amber, and Ricky have been."
