KidsFirst Bible Classes Every Wednesday K4C brings in children from all across LaFayette for Bible lessons, a full nourishing meal, and opportunities to interact with strong Christian role models during recreational time. The program is open to all children between the ages of 3 and 14, no matter where they live. Kids living inside the city can be picked up by calling (706) 639-3234. Cool After School Helping children make the most of their existing potential, K4C offers an after school program for kids struggling with grades. Cool After School's homework help and tutoring is offered every afternoon after school for children in 1st through 5th grade who attend school in Walker County. Friend 2 Friend Mentoring To connect special children with special adults, Kids 4 Christ offers Friend 2 Friend mentoring. Friend 2 Friend selects children from regular K4C activities and pairs them up with adult mentors who will take them out for special activities and events. Friend 2 Friend children are selected by K4C staff based on their individual needs. Attendance Reward Outings Kids 4 Christ volunteers regularly take children on special trips and outings to reward them for behavior and attendance. Previous trips and outings have included pizza parties, skating trips, hayrides, and ice cream parties. Family Activities Friday Family Movie Nights. Each year during the cold winter months, K4C shows free movies for families. Movie nights are usually held January through March every-other Friday night. Worship 4 Kids. K4C occasionally partners with local churches to offer child-focused church services. W4K activities introduce kids to local churches and provide families with something to do together. 2B.. As part of Cool After School, K4C offers families educational 2B.. events. Past 2B.. activities have included 2B.. Safe, a presentation on fire safety, and 2B.. Healthy, a series of presentations on how children's health impacts their ability to learn. Community Events K4C participates in community activities like the annual Freedom Festival, Scare on the Square, and the city Christmas parade. K4C also hosts its own annual event, the Back 2 School Blast. Back 2 School gives away hundreds of book bags with school supplies each year along with a free meal and games for kids. Summer Bible Camp Every summer Kids 4 Christ sends a few dozen children to Bible camp for a week. The trip, which is completely paid for by K4C, gives kids an intense week of Bible study, worship, and fun at Camp New Dawn in the Kensington area of Chickamauga, GA. The children earn their camp trip by learning Bible verses, memorizing Bible books, or reaching other goals that vary year by year. K4C ADVENTURE! Neighborhood Activities During the summer months K4C holds activities in neighborhoods around LaFayette. These sessions introduce kids to the Gospel and recruit new students to regularly held K4C activities. Most ADVENTURE! sessions are held in conjunction with youth groups participating in Confrontation Point mission trips. Clothing & Food Ministry K4C operated a clothing ministry for needy families from January 2003 until August 2004. The clothing ministry has now been combined with a food and assistance program operated by The Care Mission. K4C and The Care Mission work together with many projects throughout the year.
