Board Bios

Gail Marks, Executive Director & Board Chairwoman

Gail has always been drawn to children. As a teen she received training as a Sunday school teacher and has been teaching children since the late '70s in Sunday school, VBS, and Bible clubs. Those experiences led her to start Kids 4 Christ in 2002. Gail has been married for several decades and has three children. She attends First Baptist LaFayette.

Kristopher Marks, Administrator & Board Vice-Chair

Bringing to the table a background in purchasing, medical record keeping, Web design, and customer service, Kris oversees the ministry's kitchen, transportation, community relations, and record keeping. Kris has been with K4C since it began and gave up earning a bachelor's degree and a career in food service purchasing to work full time at Kids 4 Christ.

Karen Oakes, Secretary & Director

Life-long LaFayette resident Karen Oakes became a Christian at age 14. She worked in the banking industry for 18 years and is currently employed by Walker County Family & Children Services. Karen has one daughter and is a member of Naomi Church. Karen joined K4C as a volunteer in 2002 and has served on the Board of Directors since its creation in 2003.

Gordon Little, Director

Since accepting Christ in 1968, Gordon has taught many adult and children's sunday school classes. He currently serves as an elder for Summerville First Presbyterian Church (PCA). He has been a pharmacist at Floyd Medical Center since 1990 and enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Ralph Keith, Director

Ralph grew up as a US Navy dependent. While his father was stationed in Puerto Rico he felt the call of Christ and became a Christian at the age of nine. During the last quarter century he has served as a business owner and school teacher, currently teaching 4th graders at Rock Spring Elementary school.

Gray Jorges, Director

Raised and educated in Chattanooga, Gray has lived in Chattooga County, GA. for over two decades. He is a former educator with a business background and is currently employed by the Georgia. Department of Corrections. He also serves as Director of Mission Aid and as an elder for Summerville First Presbyterian Church (PCA). He is happily married to Donnita and has two daughters.

Ray Henley, Director

After growing up in Key West, Ray served in the Air Force from 1971 to 1980. He retired as Sales Manager for US Distribution at Hewlett-Packard in 2001 and in 2005 began a career in banking. Ray is currently Operations Manager and Lending Officer at Gateway Bank in LaFayette. He is a member of Oakwood church and serves as Secretary/Treasurer for Bikers On A Mission. He holds degrees in Metrology and Business Administration and has been married to his Inspiration, Susan, for over 25 years.
